Thank you for the honor of allowing
me to work for you over the last six
years, first as your State
Representative for Kona (2004-2008)
and now as State Senator for West
Hawaii (2008-2012). I am deeply
grateful for the opportunity to
serve you as your Senator, and also
as your doctor in the Emergency Room
on the weekends.
For decades we in West Hawaii have
felt our concerns were ignored and
our fundamental needs passed over.
Working together since 2004,
however, we have finally been able
to get County, State and Federal
investment for our community, with
over $200 million in major road
projects, water improvements,
community college resources and a
regional Community Health Center.
We have passed laws to provide
health coverage to all of Hawaii's
Keiki and a new DUI law which will
keep our roads safer from drunk
drivers. These are major
accomplishments that we can be proud
of.
Thank you for working with me on
these and many other issues. Your
encouragement and active support has
made it possible. Still, we have a
lot more work to do and together we
must continue to stand up and make
sure that West Hawaii receives our
fair share of attention and
resources from State and County
government.
Please contact me personally any
time you have an issue that you feel
passionately about, or an idea that
you believe will improve life in
Hawaii.
